You might have seen these folks spamming Trade chat lately. I tried it yesterday a few times and I've had a good experience.
Basically, this a group for our entire Battlegroup (Vindication-Horde) to try to organize Battleground premades between the realms and coordinate via Ventrillo. They mostly run AV during peak hours, but will run the other BGs if there are not enough people to run AV. Since this is formed between realms in the Battlegroup, they can't just group up and start a pre-made. So these guys have a leader in Vent who groups everyone up, and says "We're queuing up for AV in 5...4...3...2...1... Join Queue!" They'll keep track of existing BG instances and when a majority show up in the a new instance, they have everyone join. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well. Once they are in the BG, it's wonderful. A leader with a good strategy. People communicating and helping each other. For one example, after a successful AV, the leader says, "Ok. We are rushing Vann next time. Get your PvE specs and gear." With a well-geared Tank and healing group already assigned, we took down Vann with all his Marshalls still with him. [The Alterac Blitz]! It was great! One thing to note is that these are people from all over the Battlegroup, so the maturity level maybe a bit below what you are used to in AIE. The language can get very harsh and conversation sometimes borders on bad taste. However, for the most part these are friendly folks are just looking for have some fun in the BGs, and are sick of losing in our sometimes troubled Battlegroup. If you are interested, check out their web page at http://livetowin.net/ or join their Vent server at cowboy.hidef-voice.com port 5223 It's free, but they are taking donations to allow people priority in the groups. |

I also recommend running premades with the AIE and SR folks on late night early morning. We have been doing this for the last couple days and got TONS of achievements, badges and honor.
Wrecking ball anyone? |

While I enjoyed great early success with the Live To Win groups, the last couple of nights I've tuned in on vent, I was turned off by all the squabbling and bitching leading to inevitable losses and finger-pointing.
I hope it's temporary, as I had a blast roflstomping the Alliance in Alterac Valley. |

I agree and i started running with these guys about a day or so after they started.. The first week was great.. I havent logged on since sunday but i do know that last friday and saturday there were alot of inter group bickering. The owner's name is JBruce and he is a totally cool dude. I think in a few months he will weed out the trolls and children and we are gonna have a rocking group or two. Give it time and it will bloom.. If not then we can go back to losing in AV.. Either way it was fun while it lasted lol...

I tried running with them. My only problem was the length that it took to actually que up for the fight. When I tried them I was with them for about 3hrs and only rand 2 AV's getting mabye 2k honor at most, think it was actually less. It does seem like they know what they are doing if people listen. Just to slow on the que for me.

I tried again last night, and it was someone other than JBruce running the show, but whoever it was did a great job. I unfortunately didn't have time to actually get in to an AV they were running until just before it ended, but I did get my final 3 marks and bought my black war raptor. ;-)
I logged in right after they started a combination trinket run plus some sort of honorable defender achievement. After all that, we still managed to win on reinforcements - it was down to 31 to 16 in favor Alliance when I finally got in, and we won 0 to 8... |

A bit more feed back.
I've done about twenty or so AVs with these people and the experience on the whole has been good. The only complaint that I could have is that it takes a bit of time to get going, which is not surprising. However, on peak times with many people participating they do queue up much faster. I would recommend this pre-made highly if you do have an hour or two to devote. Vent chatter wise is not too bad. The mods do enforce strictly any overly antisocial behavior, such as racial slurs or F bombing. But, healthy banter is tolerated and encouraged as long as it does not affect the running of the game. Only lost one game, a surprise blitz attack by the alliance. Which seemed to be a counter strategy to the pre-made. However, the next AV we detected the blitz and a majority recalled back to foil them and eventually win with only losing Gav. Looks like this Battlegroup's alliance is not happy with the pre-made given the feedback the organizers are getting. A bit of detail on how things are organized. Follow the detail in their vent info to get setup in vent. The RL will call out, by a count down to queue for AV. Once a new AV pops up he will call out the AV number. Then to check if majority of the people in vent has gotten that AV, RL will ask people to press chat in vent if they did not get it. If the majority are in, then the RL will call people to enter the AV. Then depending on the strategy being played, the RL will post assignment by group and also ask for recallers. And if everything goes to plan the game will last about 12mins with around 2k honor. From my honor/BG mod, running with this pre-made have given me about an average of 4.5k honor per hour, compared to the next highest of 2k honor from non pre-made ABs. Honor kills per hour is also very good, especially if your group is assigned to the choke point, Gav. and tower defense. Last edited by ooksooks; 11-07-2009 at 04:18 AM. |
